Dongbao black pork sausage is available at Hakka villages in Pingtung. The pork comes from selfraised black pigs. While the pigs are growing up, no lean meat powders, antibiotics, or hormones are used. The raising period is up to 13 months. The pork has a relatively high content of unsaturated fatty acids with a naturally mature texture. It is delicious, juicy, without any unpleasant smell. The meat color appears to be brighter than that of ordinary pigs and is enriched with a marble-like grain, which is why people often refer to it as the “nobility” of meat products.
